Dr. Hoda Yasse, President of the Arab Women Investors Union (AWIU) and Member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, participated as Guest of Honor in the largest international gathering of the “Women Changing the World” Conference, held in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, from 6 to 8 November 2025.
The event was organized by Ambassador Elena Kalinina, Chairperson of the Saint Petersburg Branch of the Union of Women of Russia.
Dr. Yasse began her address by commending the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, for his consistent calls for peace in the region, his remarkable efforts during the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, and his steadfast support for women’s empowerment and investment development. She emphasized that, under President El-Sisi’s chairmanship of the Supreme Council for Investment, Egypt has become one of the most attractive destinations for investment in the region.
She further highlighted that President El-Sisi’s support and advocacy for women have been among the main factors behind the success of the Arab–African Investment and International Cooperation Summit, which continues to attract high-level international participation, including :
Mrs. Tamara Vučić, First Lady of the Republic of Serbia (attending for the fourth consecutive year),
Mrs. Susan Muhwezi, First Presidential representative of H.E. Mrs. Janet Museveni, First Lady of the Republic of Uganda,
Mrs. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, former President of the Republic of Mauritius,
Mrs. Elena Matveeva, President of the Women’s Center at the Russian Association to the United Nations,
Ambassador Miro Kisisyoglu, United Nations Ambassador for AIDS Prevention,
along with delegations from 35 countries, including Egypt, Serbia, Uganda, Mauritius, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the Sultanate of Oman, Malaysia, Belgium, Liberia, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United States, Brazil, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Cameroon, Qatar, India, Chile, Japan, Jordan, Libya, Malawi, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Turkey, Zimbabwe, Zambia, the Caucasus region, and France.
In her remarks, Dr. Yasse also drew attention to the global celebration of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, a landmark cultural event attended by distinguished delegations, heads of state, royalty, and official representatives from 79 countries, as well as leaders of regional and international organizations. She described the event as an exceptional milestone in the history of human civilization and culture, which will significantly contribute to promoting global tourism to Egypt.
Dr. Yasse further highlighted Egypt’s diverse investment climate and the attractive opportunities offered by national institutions such as the Suez Canal Authority, the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones. She commended Egypt’s progress in industrial and tourism investment, as well as the facilitations extended to investors.

She also praised the social dimension of Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity, particularly its initiatives in supporting women’s empowerment. Dr. Yasse referred to the remarks of Engineer Margaret Sarofim, Representative of the Ministry, delivered during the press conference preparing for the Arab–African Investment and International Cooperation Summit, which underscored the importance of women’s economic empowerment as a core issue in the path of sustainable development, affirming that women’s participation in the economy has become both an economic and developmental necessity.
In conclusion, Dr. Hoda Yasse reaffirmed that women have always played a decisive role throughout history, leading the world through critical decisions that changed its course, and demonstrating their remarkable capacity to overcome economic and social challenges, while making meaningful contributions to social, economic, and political life.
