In line with the state’s direction to support environmentally friendly industries, Dr. Khaled Soufi honored the Technical Chemical Laboratories (TCL) factory for obtaining the Environmental Performance Label for detergents, in accordance with Egyptian Standard No. 8829 of 2024.
TCL is among the factories accredited by the Arab Women Investors Union.
The recognition was received by Eng. Rami Ghaly, General Manager of the factories, in the presence of Dr. Hoda Yassa, President of the Arab Women Investors Union and Chairperson of Yassa Group; Dr. Mohamed El Zarka, environmental consultant and expert; Chemist Sameh Amin, Board Member; and Mr. Romany Fayez, Executive Director of the International Success Training Center.
Dr. Khaled Soufi emphasized that TCL is the first factory in Egypt to obtain this significant certification, highlighting the Organization’s role as the national reference for standardization and quality, and a key driver in elevating the standards of products and services while supporting the competitiveness of Egyptian industry in international markets.
Dr. Hoda Yassa stated that this recognition crowns the factory’s pioneering role, noting that TCL actively contributed to the development of the Environmental Performance Label standard for detergents in 2024, in alignment with the state’s vision for sustainable development and responsible, eco-friendly production.
Eng. Rami Ghaly added that this achievement reflects TCL’s ongoing commitment to the highest standards of quality and environmental sustainability, as well as its continuous efforts to develop detergent products that meet both local and international market requirements.
This certification further strengthens TCL’s position as a key contributor to the transition toward a green economy, reinforcing its role in advancing the detergents industry in Egypt and across Africa in line with global best practices.
Dr. Mohamed El Zarka confirmed that since the early 1980s, TCL factories have adopted numerous environmental programs and compliance measures aligned with both Egyptian and international standards, particularly in promoting environmentally friendly practices within the detergents sector.
Mr. Romany Fayez added that training in management and operational practices remains one of the most important standards receiving significant attention at the international level.
